So, where are the cats...

Well, if you have read my banner, then you are probably expecting some cat photos.
(If you really love cats, you are probably demanding to see some fluffiness, since it has been promised, pretty much everywhere!)

So finally, a post about my feline friends!

I figured, since this is the first post about my kitties, some introductions are in order...
Up first is our oldest cat...

Her name is Dahlia, but my family calls her 'mama'.
She has been with us for the past 9 years and we believe she is around 14 - 16 years old.  We adopted her from our local animal shelter in February of 2005. (She was my Valentine's Day present.)

She is one of sweetest cats you will ever meet.  All she wants to do is snuggle up on your lap for lots of hugs.
(Fun Fact: She drools, a lot!)

Our second kitty...

This lovely Siamese is Ziva.
(Don't let the cutest fool you, she is a diva!)
We adopted her about 6 years ago, when she was around a year old.  She'd all ready had a litter of kittens and had been on the street most of her life.
She was the nearest to a feral cat, that we've ever had.

It was a hard road with her at first, but she has made great strides.
She now loves to cuddle and snuggle, two things I never thought I'd see.  There are still things we need to work on with her, but she has become a very special part of our family.
(Fun Fact: Ziva is named after the character on NCIS and for good reason, they have very similar personalities!)

Next...

Big Hoss...
My husband picked him out 5 years ago (around Christmas), from our local shelter and he has been a great addition to our family.
He is about 10 - 12 years old and one huge fluff - ball!

He is actually one of my favorite cats to photograph, because he sits still really well.
Hoss loves to play, as long as you throw the toy to him, and he adores cat nip!  He also has an innate sense of when someone doesn't feel well; he gives extra cuddles to help you get better.
(Fun Fact: Hoss doesn't really meow, he makes a cooing sound, like a dove.)

And our last kitty...

This is Cooper and he is a 4 year old Ragdoll, he is also a bundle of trouble!
He is a beautiful cat, but gets into EVERYTHING!  He loves to play and to cause trouble.

He does have his moments of sweetness. (Personally, I think those moments are to lull us humans into a false sense of security, before he pounces!)
He has certainly made our house more interesting and I look forward to continuing to watch him grow.
(Fun Fact: The only person in our house that can pick him up (without a chase), is our 10 year old son.)

So, that is all of them, they are quite the bunch!
I do love each and every one of them!

Thanks so much for taking the time to meet them and I certainly have more kitty posts coming!

    1. Thanks 2justByou! That's a shame about your allegories. My father was allegoric to cats, so I couldn't have any as a kid...
Guess that created the crazy cat lady in me! :)
