Reflections from 2015...

I honestly cannot believe that today is the last day of 2015...
I swear, it feels like the year just started and here it is ending.
(Where does the time go...)

I haven't gotten as much done as I was hoping to this year, but I still had a lot of fun working on projects, blogging and getting to read posts by fellow stitchers.
I am definitely looking forward to the new year, new projects and new stitching challenges.

So now, to wrap up my year in stitching...

...My final ORT collection of 2015...

It ended up being quite the collection of threads and yarn.  (Not sure if that is a good thing, since I didn't actually get that much stitching done, but it sure did look pretty.)

And, I managed a final finish for 2015...

I was able to finish the stitching on my "kit-tea" project last night and I think it came out quite cute.

I am hoping to frame the piece and hang it in my office (once my office is finished).

Lastly, a picture of the back of the piece...
The project was stitched on 14ct. white Aida cloth.

So, I managed to finish 4 pieces this year ("kit-tea", "flower power" design 1, "cabin" design 1 and the Scooby Doo gang)...
I had hoped for more, but I am proud that I finished at least some projects. (Now to get everything framed.)

I also started a new project...

I've had this kit for awhile and finally decided to give it a whirl.

Not a whole lot done, but it is a start.

Oh, I had forgotten to share another start...

I began working on cabin #2 in September and just never got around to posting.
(The design is from Issue 176 (May 2013) of "Cross Stitch Crazy" magazine.)

Well, that is it on the stitching front for today...
...I did want to share a few pictures that I took this morning...
(I thought they were kinda pretty and I really do enjoy taking photos.)

It is nice to finally have some snow covering the ground.
(I quite missed the snow this Christmas.)

Anyway, I hope everyone has a fantastic New Year's Eve and a great start to 2016!

Happy December...

HAPPY HOLIDAYS, everyone!

I know I disappeared again, this time due to work.
(This holiday season was absolutely crazy and I was lucky to simply find time to get dressed everyday.)

Once Christmas was over, life calmed down a bit (and my husband forced me to take a break from work) and I actually got a bit of stitching done.

So, we'll get right to the pictures...
"Christmas Surprise"
(Mr. Snowman)

...where I left off...

...where I am now...

...and a close up..

Next, Halloween Owls...

...where I left off..

...and where I am now...

Lastly, "Kit-Tea"

...where I left off...

...and where I am now...
(Almost done!)

I am hoping to get more stitching done this winter and hopefully the new year will bring lots of new finishes!
(I certainly can't do any worse, since I hardly finished anything in 2015.)

Anyway, I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and I hope everyone has a fantastic new year!

Labor Day Stitching...

Since our family never does much over Labor Day Weekend (very hard with my hubby's work schedule), I decided to spend the time stitching.

I have another finish! (YAY!)
I finished the flower I had posted about in my previous post...

I wasn't sure about the colors, but now that it is done, I really like it!

I put in some more work on scottie dog project, that I'm making as a gift for my aunt...

...where I left off...

...and, where I am now...

The brown dog is almost done...

And then, I started a new project (I know, I know) for my nephew....
(I was planning on giving him the Wild Things pieces, but my brother-in-law posted pictures from my nephews third birthday...and it was a Spider-man themed party.  So, I decided to make a super hero cross stitch, complete with Spider-man for him.)

Captain America is all done...

I found the pattern at Pixels in Stitches.

Well, that has been the excitement around my house...
...now it is time to find something for a late lunch!

Happy weekend everyone!

I have stitching...

So for once, I actually have some stitching progress to show....
...shocking I know! :)

Well, I honestly can't believe that it is September all ready...
...school has started and I've begun thinking about all the cross stitch Christmas presents I had planned...
And, I am failing pretty bad on that front.

So, I've started working on plan B.

I found several small designs in my Cross Stitch Crazy magazines and figured I would turn them into sets of coasters.

I decided to start with some cottage designs (I've always wanted to stitch these) and I even finished one!

The pattern comes from Issue 176 of Cross Stitch Crazy.
It is number 19 from the 50 (New Home) Gift Ideas section.

Once the cottage was done, I moved to another small design...

It's not quite done yet, but I'm pretty close to having it finished.
The pattern is from Issue 165 of Cross Stitch Crazy and is part of the Flower Power section.
I changed the colors slightly, because I didn't them all on hand...
...I'm not sure I am completely happy it, but we'll see how it looks when it is finished.

Well, that is about it from my neck of the woods!
I am definitely hoping to keep stitching and get some Christmas gifts finished.

Hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend!

And, I disappeared...

So, I kinda disappeared for a bit...
I apologize.

This summer has been rather crazy and I've had a hard time keeping up with my cross stitching. (Honestly, I haven't stitch much at all in the last month.)

My family and I did take a vacation in mid July and we had a really good time.
Since, I don't have any cross stitch pictures to share, I thought I would share some photos from our vacation...
We went touring around the Porcupine Mountains, which are in Ontonagon and Gogebic Counties (Michigan).

Of course, we ran into some wildlife during our visit...

We than toured around Lake Superior and Bond Falls (Ontonagon County)...

It was an amazing trip!

Well, I am off for now (hopefully I'll have another update soon), to find some lunch and maybe actually get some stitching done!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

July Wipocalypse Update...

Only a couple days behind, not too bad for me...

I haven't had a lot of time stitch, but I do have a couple updates to share.

Up first, Where the Wild Things Are...
...Where I left off..

...And where I am now...
Not a whole lot of progress, but some...

And...
...the Disney princess clock...
...Where I left off...

...And where I am now...

Close up of the newest princesses to join the piece...
...I am getting there!

This month's topic: Reality or Fantasy. Which do you prefer to stitch? Figures or Abstract?
I'm not really sure...
I tend to stitch things that I find to be cute.  I don't really like to stitch anything too realistic, so I guess I go more for the fantasy side of things.
I also tend to stitch more figures then abstracts.
....

And, I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Fourth of July!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

June, Gifted Gorgeousness Update...

I have managed to get some stitching done...YAY!
...and in time for the gifted gorgeousness update.

Up first, the scottie dog project, that will be a gift for my aunt...
...Where I left off...

...And where I am now...
Two doggies down and only four left to go!

Next, the woodland sampler...
(A gift for a family friend.)
...Where I left off...

...And where I am now...

And a close-up of the February square...
Almost done with the February square!

And lastly, my Halloween owl project, which was a gift from my hubby for Mother's Day.
...Where I left off...

...And where I am now...
Franken-Owl is coming along!
(I really love this piece and can't wait to have it finished!)

So, it has been a productive couple weeks...
...I just hope I can keep it going!

Well, I hope everyone has a great week!
