At the Lake...

Well, it is that time of year again...
...time for my husband to be fishing, at the lake, whenever he is home from work.
So, of course, I tag along!

I always take along some cross stitch pieces to work on...
...unfortunately, my usual spot to sit (with a chair) is under water.
So, I now have to sit on a blanket, under a shade tree.

It really isn't a problem, but it does add some difficulties with my cross stitch pieces.
I won't be able to work on large pieces, because I don't have anywhere to properly lay them out, to be "hooped".  So, its a good thing that I have lots of "little patterns" to kit up and work on.
Plus, I'll need to buy a few things, to help make things easier. (Good thing it is almost Mother's Day!)
I will need a needle minder (the hard part is picking just one), a needle book/case (again, I don't know how I'm going to pick one), a clipboard (to keep my patterns from flying around) and a new tote bag.
I figure it is only fair, since my hubby needs all his fishing equipment, I need my cross stitching equipment!

Anyway, here a few more photos of my cross stitching, at the lake...

(So many projects, so little time!)

Working on my "Kit-Tea" project.

I've been making some good progress on this little project!

I will be sure to post some pictures, once I pick out my new supplies!
Hope everyone has a great Friday!

One Lovely Blog Award...

Well, I was shocked, when I received the wonderful comment from Renee at 'Living My Dream', letting me know that she had nominated my blog for the One Lovely Blog Award.
Thank you so much Renee, I am very appreciative of the nomination!

SO...
The purpose of this award is for bloggers to nominate fellow, mostly newer, bloggers that they wish to recognize. The goal is to bring attention to blogs that we think are "lovely" and enjoy reading. We hope others will enjoy reading these blogs also.

In order to accept the award, the nominated blogger must follow these rules:
  • Thank the person who nominated you & link back to them in your post
  • Share seven facts about yourself
  • Nominate 10 other bloggers for the award

My seven facts...
(This was hard, since I've written numerous about me posts.)
1) I love watching murder mystery shows!
(Some of my favorites are Castle, CSI: New York, Elementary, Psych, Monk, etc.)
And, I am always on the lookout for more!

2) I really, really wish I could draw!
It is the one skill I have always wanted, but I've just never been good at it. (Honestly, I can't even draw a straight line with a ruler.)

3) I have tried to learn to crochet (several times), but have never had any luck with it.
(I can usually do 2 rows and then everything falls apart.)

4) My favorite scent is Vanilla.
(I made a whole separate section for my Etsy shop, dedicated to Vanilla fragrances, because I love them so much.)

5) I have been spoiled by handmade soap!
(I seriously won't buy soap at the store anymore.  I'll only buy it at my favorite Etsy shop: Linger Bath and Body.)

6) My favorite color is blue and my least favorite color is pink.

7) I am terrified of snakes and heights!

All right, now I have pick 10 blogs to nominate for the award...
(This was not easy at all!)

There we go...
...definitely the hardest decision I've had to make in awhile!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Turtle-ocalypse...

So, once again I am behind on an update!
(I had company over Easter weekend, so I didn't have much free time for updating or stitching.)

I decided to combine my WIPocalypse update and Turtle Trot update (actually going to be early for once)...

Well, lets get on to the progress photos...

Disney Princess
Where I left off...

And now...
...the first princess is almost done!

Star Wars alphabet
Where I left off...

As of today...
...Luke has a face!

Where the Wild Things Are
Where I left off...

And now...
...the "Wild Thing" now has a tail!

---

I decided to start a new small and fun project...
(Just something for when I need a break from working on gifts.)

I get a little stressed working on the gifts, because I am trying to make them as "perfect" as I can...
...so, I started this little cat to relax!
(If you are interested in the pattern, you can find it here: Kit - Tea pattern.)

I also got a couple new magazines from the Easter bunny...
...and boy, did I find lots of projects I want to work on!
(I definitely need more hours in the day!)

Well, time for lunch!
Hope everyone has a great day!
